How do I arrange a wedding at St. Paul's Church?

If you wish to arrange a wedding at St. Paul's Church, you should contact the Vicar (Revd. Peter Hallett) who will arrange to meet with you.  The Vicar can be contacted on 01772 335366

Practical Information About Marriage at St. Paul's Church

Marriage is for one man and one woman.  Marriage in St. Paul's Church is available where one or both live in the parish, or qualify for the church electoral roll, by at least monthly church attendance over a six month period prior to Banns.   Banns are read for three consecutive Sundays in a three month period prior to the wedding.

Those wishing to marry should contact the Vicar, who will make an appointment to see them to take down details and arrange preparation, service details and a rehearsal. Preparation includes the basics of good relationships and the foundations of a Christian marriage.

The current cost of a wedding in church is about £350 with most optional elements included.

If one partner has been married before, marriage in church may still be an option, but the couple have to undergo a form of enquiry to ensure that residual obligations from the first relationship are being met, that they are free from bitterness from the first relationship and that there is a genuine current Christian commitment.

A service of blessing after a civil marriage is always an option.
